Heart Rate Monitor

So today in my fitness class we tested our sigma onyx easy heart rate monitors in class. It was very interesting trying to switch the language from German to English. I think it is a very nice heart rate monitor for only 40 dollars! I am a little disappointed that it is a little on the bigger size but it is nice that the print is big enough to read! I also like all of the different options we can see when we are in training mode! I agree it is basically idiot proof, but it does get annoying pressing all of those buttons repeatedly. At least I learned how to turn the beeping noise off! Surprisingly the chest strap is reasonably comfortable!

Mypramid.gov

Saturday Mason and I got together to work on our wiki and our topic is the 'new' food pyramid. So in order to learn what we needed to say I went online to MyPyranid.gov and that site is amazing! It is a great resource, they even had podcasts! They have a lot other interactive tools like MyPyramid Plan and a Menu Planner where it helps you learn how many calories you would intake and what kind of foods you should eat! A tool that is coming soon is the Child Cost Calculator! How cool is that! It will calculate approximately how much it would cost to feed a child! There are just so many different tools, resources and very useful information on this website but it seems like no one knows it exists! Would you guys recommend this site for your students to use?!?

Busy Week Is Almost Over!

So I turned in my Webpage earlier today, and boy am I glad! Yesterday and today were very long days! Wednesday I had to present the Fitnessgram shoulder stretch with my group for Fitness Ed. I was very nervous about the whole thing! Then after class I had to attend a mandatory club and organization meeting. After that I went to RockCatholic where we played sardines for 30minutes and then learned how to deal with the difficult people in our lives! Once I got back to my dorm around 10pm I worked on my webpage til about 4am. I had a lot to finish! Then today I had class from 9-5pm. And now I've been sitting desk since 7:30 and I'll be on duty until 11:30. It's amazing how many kids lock themselves out of their rooms! Thank goodness the weekend is coming, too bad I'm on duty! So did anyone else stay up late to finish their webpage? So who is ready to start their Efolio?!?

Busy Day

Today was a day full of meetings! At common hour I had to attend the Honors Program meeting, there were two choices for the trip next semester. It is either Boston or Charleston. Then at 6pm I attended the SIP (Sophomore Initiative Program) Workshop "Love your Money- Finding Scholarships and Grants". they had a woman from Financial Aid come and talk and then a man from Citizens Bank gave a talk. I learned a lot about credit reports and credit scores. Then I took my floor to the Building Bridges meeting at 7:30 in the Alumni House! It was a very good meeting, we asked the question, why are we as a society split up and divided!! I think it is because most people are just afraid to leave their comfort zone and are afraid of what others might think! So what do you guys think about that question?!?

Is anyone else swamped with meetings and clubs?
